![]() From a storage admin standpoint, would it be recommended to go with two different arrays, one for Tier 1 and 2, and then another for tier 3, or stick with a hybrid? All that being said, I don't think I am willing to spend the money for 500TiB of Pure, or 500TiB for a Nimble AFA. I have some concerns about Pure not having a "cache" but everyone I talk to that has Pure is in love with it. The Pure C series advertises consistent 2-4 ms response, where Pure advertises Nimble at sub ms, when in cache. ![]() On our nimble we are seeing about 50% rereads due to the amount of pinned flash we require for some poorly written DBs, causing my tier 3 reads at over 10ms, my Nimble SE is telling me we need more cache/SSD. I'm not a storage guy, but my desktop guy is telling me to never buy QLC for primary storage. That being said, Pure has priced me a C class, running the QLC drives. My thoughts prior to pricing is never buy another spinning disk. Approximately 80% of that is tier 3 storage, but routinely randomly accessed. We are getting ready to replace the Nimble for a couple of technical reasons. We are a current Nimble customer CS5000, been happy with it. Saw an relevant post but I needed a little more detail. Also, feel free to contact any of the mods if you wish to discuss the rules.
